The global pharmaceutical industry experienced a 10% rise in new job postings related to social responsibility in Q3 2022 compared with the previous quarter, according to GlobalData’s whitepaper on Social Responsibility in Pharmaceutical – Hiring Activity in Q3 2022. This compares to a 161% increase versus Q3 2021.
Notably, Registered Nurses jobs accounted for a 9% share of the global pharmaceutical industry’s social responsibility-related total new job postings in Q3 2022, up 5% over the prior quarter.
Registered Nurses, with a share of 9%, emerged as the top social responsibility-related job roles within the pharmaceutical industry in Q3 2022, with new job postings rising by 5% quarter-on-quarter. Miscellaneous Healthcare Support Occupations came in second with a share of 7% in Q3 2022, with new job postings drop by 7% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent social responsibility roles include General and Operations Managers with a 4% share in Q3 2022, Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics with a 3% share of new job postings.
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2022 were CSL, CSL Behring, Houston Methodist Hospital and Octapharma Plasma. Together they accounted for a combined share of 24% of all social responsibility-related active jobs in the pharmaceutical industry.
CSL posted 4,094 jobs in Q3 2022 and registered a drop of 2% over the previous quarter, followed by CSL Behring with 3,900 jobs and a 1% growth. Houston Methodist Hospital with 3,632 jobs and Octapharma Plasma with 3,430 jobs, recorded a 6% decline and a 40% increase, respectively, while UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center recorded a 10% increase with 2,736 job postings during Q3 2022.
The largest share of social responsibility-related new job postings in the pharmaceutical industry in Q3 2022 was in the US with 80% followed by Canada (5%) and the UK (3%). The share represented by the US was 0.99 percentage points higher than the 79% share it accounted for in Q2 2022.
