Management Occupations drive future of work-related hiring activity
Management Occupations, with a share of 18%, emerged as the top future of work-related job roles within the pharmaceutical industry in Q3 2023, with new job postings drop by 36% quarter-on-quarter. Computer and Mathematical Occupations came in second with a share of 14% in Q3 2023, with new job postings dropping by 42% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent future of work roles include Architecture and Engineering Occupations with an 8% share in Q3 2023, Life, Physical, and Social Science Occupations with a 8% share of new job postings.
Top five companies in pharmaceutical industry accounted for 39% of hiring activity
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2023 were Novo Nordisk, Pfizer, Merck, AstraZeneca, and Bristol-Myers Squibb. Together they accounted for a combined share of 39% of all future of work-related new jobs in the pharmaceutical industry.
Novo Nordisk posted 614 future of work-related new jobs in Q3 2023, Pfizer 526 jobs, Merck 402 jobs, AstraZeneca 360 jobs, and Bristol-Myers Squibb 331 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 47.25% share of total new job postings, Q3 2023
The largest share of future of work-related new job postings in the pharmaceutical industry in Q3 2023 was in the US with 47.25% followed by India (13.98%) and Denmark (6.73%). The share represented by the US was three percentage points lower than the 49.92% share it accounted for in Q2 2023.
