Management Occupations, with a share of 26%, emerged as the top cell & gene therapy-related job roles within the pharmaceutical industry in Q3 2023, with new job postings drop by 24% quarter-on-quarter. Life, Physical, and Social Science Occupations came in second with a share of 19% in Q3 2023, with new job postings dropping by 9% over the previous quarter.

Together they accounted for a combined share of 65% of all cell & gene therapy-related new jobs in the pharmaceutical industry.
Bristol-Myers Squibb posted 1,863 cell & gene therapy-related new jobs in Q3 2023, F. Hoffmann-La Roche 99 jobs, Charles River Laboratories International 88 jobs, Astellas Pharma 70 jobs, and Sarepta Therapeutics 66 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 66.23% share of total new job postings, Q3 2023
The largest share of cell & gene therapy-related new job postings in the pharmaceutical industry in Q3 2023 was in the US with 66.23% followed by India (10.94%) and China (4.09%). The share represented by the US was one percentage point lower than the 67.40% share it accounted for in Q2 2023.
