The global pharmaceutical industry experienced an 8% drop in new job postings related to cloud in Q3 2022 compared with the previous quarter, according to GlobalData’s whitepaper on Cloud in Pharmaceutical – Hiring Activity in Q3 2022. This compares to a 21% increase versus Q3 2021.
Notably, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers jobs accounted for a 19% share of the global pharmaceutical industry’s cloud -related total new job postings in Q3 2022, down 17% over the prior quarter.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers, with a share of 19%, emerged as the top cloud -related job roles within the pharmaceutical industry in Q3 2022, with new job postings drop by 17% quarter-on-quarter. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in second with a share of 8% in Q3 2022, with new job postings drop by 31% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent cloud roles include General and Operations Managers with a 6% share in Q3 2022, Computer and Information Systems Managers with a 4% share of new job postings.
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2022 were Evolent Health, Johnson & Johnson, CVS Health and Hastings Center. Together they accounted for a combined share of 16% of all cloud -related active jobs in the pharmaceutical industry.
Evolent Health posted 438 jobs in Q3 2022 and registered a drop of 44% over the previous quarter, followed by Johnson & Johnson with 409 jobs and a 20% growth. CVS Health with 388 jobs and Hastings Center with 311 jobs, recorded a 6% decline and a 26% increase, respectively, while AstraZeneca recorded a 29% decline with 219 job postings during Q3 2022.
The largest share of cloud -related new job postings in the pharmaceutical industry in Q3 2022 was in the US with 72% followed by India (6%) and the UK (3%). The share represented by the US was 0.93 percentage points higher than the 71% share it accounted for in Q2 2022.
