There was great joy at LB Bohle, as the technology company from Ennigerloh has won the German Design Award three times.

“At the Interpack in May of this year, we launched our new machine generation with the presentation of three new systems,” says Managing Director Thorsten Wesselmann, looking back. “Our machines have not only been technically optimised, but they have also been redesigned in a groundbreaking industrial design,” Wesselmann continues.

After consultation with the industrial designers with whom the machines were designed, the management of LB Bohle decided to enter the BFC tablet coater, the BRC dry granulator and the QbCon 1, a continuous granulator and dryer for research and development, for the Design Award.

The German Design Award is open to companies, agencies, service providers and marketing experts, as well as non-profit and governmental organisations from all sectors worldwide. The independent jury of the German Design Council decides on admission to the competition and the subsequent winners.

“After the consistently positive reactions to our new machines, we were secretly hoping for an award,” says Wesselmann. LB Bohle was named the winner for the BRC and QbCon, while the BFC tablet coater received a special award. “We were surprised to receive three awards at once,” says Wesselmann. Overall, LB Bohle officials see the award as confirmation that they took the right step with the bold new design.

“Thanks to an outstanding team effort within the company, together with external designers, we have succeeded in developing a completely new design line for our systems that ensures identification with the LB Bohle company. Winning the German Design Award will also help us attract even more attention and visibility in the market,” says Managing Director Tim Remmert, who sees further positive effects from the award.
